Clinical studies on pulmonary tuberculosis in pregnancy

Abstract
|
|
|
|
1. The Hospital incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis in pregnancy was 1.33%. 2. There was no difference in annual incidence. 3. The detection incidence of new patient was 0.82%. 4. In the clinical extent of disease, minimal active disease was 72.5%, Moderate acitve disease ; 20.6% Far advanced disease ; 6.9%. 5. The rate of positive AFB test was 12.5% and positive sputum culture for tuberculosis was 8.33%. 6. Average weight of new born babies was 3180gm, babies weighing between 3000 gm and 3499 gm revealed 52.5%. In minimal active group, average weight was 3220 gm, minimal active ; 3140 gm and far advanced ; 3060 gm. 7. The detection of pulmonary tuberculosis between 20 and 29 weeks was most common (34.4%) and 27.5% at postpartum first day. 8. Delivery between 37 and 40 weeks was most common (88.1%) 9. There was no case of congenital tuberculosis. 10. There was no maternal death in this study. 11. Rate of perinatal death was 52.3 per 1000 live birth and it was 189.2 in M.A nad F.A group.
